Hey There, we’re the Voetbergs. We’re happy you’ve joined us!
This is a newsletter and deeply personal space for us to share family life, homeschooling, and music with you all. We have been writing on Instagram and email for years, but ever since leaving social media behind with our smart phones a few years ago (4 years for Elisha!) we have been looking for another space to connect in a meaningful way.
If you’re new, we are the hosts of the Now That We’re a Family Podcast and Print Magazine where we lean on our experience growing up in large families of 10 and 11 kids, to encourage parents to take back control, stop listening to popular relationship advice, and embrace their God-given role as their children's primary authority.
What to expect here:
This space is primarily private. Meaning, it was designed to allow us to be more personal and free with sharing the family-life that we love so much with those who have our children’s best interest at heart. To become a paid subscriber, you can join for just $7/month (or even more affordably at $60/annually.)
Regardless of what you choose, all subscribers receive:
Elisha’s Weekly Top 5 Tuesday Newsletter - Over the past five years, Elisha has built a cultish following of his weekly Top 5 Tuesday Newsletter where he shares five things we are doing, loving, thinking, arguing about, and regretting. It’s cheeky and irreverent, and as a free subscriber, you’ll be privy to that each week. You also receive:
Now That I’m a Mother Poetry. For years, IG was where I shared encouragement for mothers in the trenches via captions. But after leaving social media behind, I missed being able to connect with you and share what’s on my heart. My hope is that these poems will meet you where you are at and encourage you to see the motherhood and womanhood God calls us to in a more beautiful light. Of COURSE, not everyone is going to want this in their inbox (it’s kinda specific) so this is a section of our newsletter you can choose to opt in or out of. If you DO want to receive it, pop over to your Substack settings and select: Now That I’m a mother. Either way is fine by me.
The inside Scoop. You guys are the first to know about changes we are making, upcoming music projects, etc. before the public knows . . . and you’re the only ones who get to actually hear the funny things our kiddos say, or what Elisha and I are currently disagreeing about.
Why go paid?
Mainly, because we just don’t feel comfortable offering up our personal lives to everyone that tramps by on the world wide web. Paid subscriptions allow us to write and film in a more personal way, and we are honored to invite the right people to be a part of that. Paid subscribers are the only ones that get access to B-Roll — our private podcast just for paid subscribers, and my journal, essays, and family content.
What’s The B-Roll Podcast?
A chill video podcast where we don’t sit down much. Instead, we walk you through our new barn build explaining why we designed it the way we did, breaking down family rhythms that are working for us, and showing more than telling.
Exclusive Essay + Video Library
We are constantly finding new resources around homeschooling and family-life and we want to share what works and what doesn’t! These resources and insights will be for families like ours who desire to grow.
Katie’s Journal
A relatable, relaxed day-to-day narration of what I’m thinking, learning, and growing. It’s off the cuff and all over the map, so you may hear about app free step trackers, or feminism, or what we had for dinner.
About Us (The official stuff.)
Most of my time can be spent homeschooling, breastfeeding and toddler training, our six children and helping Elisha host and publish the Now That We’re A Family Podcast or Print Magazine. We also run various programs for families including The Get it All Done Club (helping thousands of women go from surviving to thriving in motherhood), The Growth Initiative (a live-coaching program for husbands and fathers) Marriage Maximizer (led by my parents who have been married 30+ years), and Homeschool: The First Three Years (for new homeschool mothers).
However, our main pride and joy is Voetberg Music Academy, our online music academy that specializes in teaching families how to play music in a way they will never forget. With The Voetberg Method™ students continue playing even when lessons and practice times stop. If that sounds like you, we would love to have you
