Mother's Timetable: Explained

I am trying to facilitate a much stronger language arts focus this year, while keeping the children “ahead” in math, maintaining growth in the arts, and allowing for hours of wild west make-believe and chapped noses from winter wind. It’s a tall order, but this initial timetable shows me it can be done. You can read how I get to the point of choosing our curriculum and creating this Timetable here. Let’s dive in a little closer and break it down hour by hour.

6:30-6:45 Quiet Time. All of my children are early risers, and we currently have a rule in place they cannot come out of their rooms until 7am for the bigs and 7:30am for the littles. (Somehow my eldest son made himself the exception, and comes out to read his bible and workout with my husband before starting on his math. I guess we were too encouraged by how he was spending his time to send him back to bed.) This year, I plan on lifting the morning curfew and the older children are welcome to come read their individual bibles in the stillness of the morning. This will be an open invitation to my 8, 7, and 6 year old, but it is not required as they are still growing and I am more than happy for them to sleep.
